The Cow Shack is a small place, part of a farm near Upham. It sleeps four but it's one room upstairs, a bedroom suite they call it. The main bed is a super king that can split into two singles. Then there's a double day bed in the same room, which is where the extra two people sleep. The en-suite shower room is attached.
Downstairs is open plan. A kitchen area with the basics, a dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. Patio doors lead out to the front, where there's parking. I've put a bistro set out there.
You're surrounded by fields. You'll see cows, sometimes sheep. It's very quiet. The Wi-Fi is decent. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You can bring one dog. There's a grassy area by the parking but it's not an enclosed garden, so you'd need to keep the dog on a lead outside.
The nearest proper village is Pennymoor, a few minutes by car. Tiverton is about fifteen minutes away - supermarkets, shops, the canal there is nice for a walk. There's a pub that does food, The Merry Harriers in Clayhidon, about a ten minute drive.
You're right in the middle of Devon here. It's about fifty minutes to the north coast, places like Westward Ho! or Saunton Sands for surfing. An hour or so to the south coast, maybe Dawlish Warren or Exmouth. Dartmoor National Park is about forty minutes south. Exeter is half an hour away.
For planning days out, these are good: Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks and National Trust Devon.
