The Shed With A View is in Cadbury, about ten minutes from Crediton. It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. Despite the name, it's not a shed. It's a proper little cottage. The big thing is the view. The main room is almost all glass on one side, so you look straight out over the fields. It's very quiet.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. Everything's on one level, which is handy. There's one bedroom with its own bathroom. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. You can park right outside.
The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for one dog. There's a summerhouse by the pond you can use. The owners, Mike and Sheila, live next door. They've been here over thirty years and manage all the land for wildlife. They're nice people, know a lot about the area, and will leave you to it unless you want to chat.
The local pub is two miles away in Bickleigh, it does food. The shop is about two and a half miles. For a bigger shop, Crediton is closest.
You're right in the middle of Devon here. It's about half an hour to the north edge of Dartmoor and the same to the south edge of Exmoor. Exeter is maybe twenty-five minutes by car. The coast, either north or south, is about an hour's drive, depending on traffic.
There are a few National Trust places nearby if that's your thing: Killerton, Knightshayes, and Castle Drogo. Mike can tell you about local fishing if you're interested, but it's not on the property.
That's about it. It's a good spot if you want somewhere quiet to come back to after being out walking or sightseeing.
