This is Goosedown Lodge at Ponsford Ponds. It's on the edge of the Blackdown Hills in Devon. You're right by a fishing lake.
It's a proper glamping lodge, not a tent. It's all wood and glass. There's one bedroom with a super king bed, which we can split into two singles if you ask ahead. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's set up for two people.
The main room is open plan. There's a kitchen area, a sofa, a wood burner and an electric fire for background heat. Outside, there's your own deck. It looks straight out onto the lake. There's a hot tub on the deck, table and chairs, and a barbecue.
The fishing is included in the price. There's a main pond here with carp and other fish, and a specimen pond a short walk away. You don't need to be an expert.
It's very quiet here. The M5 is only about ten minutes away though, so it's easy to get to. Cullompton is five minutes down the road for shops. Exeter is about twenty minutes.
You can get to the south coast, places like Sidmouth, in half an hour. The north Devon surf beaches are about an hour. Both Dartmoor and Exmoor are under an hour's drive.
Locally, the Grand Western Canal is good for a flat walk. The National Trust has Killerton House and Knightshayes Court nearby. Useful links if you're planning: Blackdown Hills, National Trust Killerton, and National Trust Knightshayes.
Things here include all bedding and towels, WiFi, a smart TV, dishwasher, and parking right outside. It has a 5 Star rating. No pets, sorry.
