Coot Roundhouse
Coot Roundhouse is on a fishing lake in Ponsford, near Cullompton. It’s what they call a glamping place, but it’s a proper little building, not a tent. It’s detached, just for the two of you, with its own deck right by the water.
Inside it’s all one room. The bed’s a super king, or it can be two singles if you ask when you book. There’s a small kitchen area with a microwave oven and a two-ring hob, a fridge, a sofa and a TV. The shower room is separate. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and clean.
The main thing is the setting. You look straight out over the lake. It’s quiet. You can fish in the lake right outside your door, no extra charge. There’s a bigger specimen pond a short walk away.
You’re on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are walks straight from the door. Cullompton is five minutes down the road for shops and pubs. The M5 is about ten minutes away, which makes getting around easy.
Exeter is twenty minutes west. Towards the coast, places like Sidmouth or the Jurassic Coast are within half an hour’s drive. Exmoor and Dartmoor are both under an hour away. The Grand Western Canal, where you can go on a horse-drawn boat, is about three miles from here.
It’s got parking, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. No pets.
