Ponsford Ponds Jacks Shepherd Hut is exactly what it sounds like. It's a good, solid shepherd's hut on our land at Ponsford in Devon. It's for two people.
It's detached, so you're on your own out there. You get your own deck with a hot tub and a little table and chairs. The view is over the fields and one of the ponds. It's very quiet.
Inside, it's one room with the bed at one end and the kitchen and a small sofa at the other. There's an en-suite shower room. It's got underfloor heating and an electric stove for warmth. It's a 5 Star place, so everything is clean and works properly. The WiFi is decent.
You can fish in the ponds if you want. They're about a three minute walk from the hut. It's private, just for guests.
Location wise, you're in the countryside but near things. The M5 is ten minutes away if you're arriving from far off. Cullompton town is five minutes drive for shops and a few pubs. Exeter is about twenty minutes for proper city stuff.
The coast is half an hour. Exmouth and Sidmouth are the main beaches that way. If you fancy walking, you're right on the edge of the Blackdown Hills. Dartmoor is about fifty minutes drive.
There are a couple of National Trust places nearby: Killerton and Knightshayes. For something different, there's Diggerland or The Bear Trail, which is an obstacle course.
Facilities are all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, towels and bedding included. There's a cot and highchair if you need it. You can bring one dog.
That's about it. It's a comfortable hut in a quiet spot, with the hot tub and the fishing if you want it.
