Moor Hen Shepherd Hut

Moor Hen is one of our shepherd huts here at Ponsford Ponds. It's on its own deck overlooking one of the fishing lakes. You're looking out at the water, and beyond that it's just fields.

It's for two people. One room with a super king bed that can be split into twins if you need it. There's a proper shower room and a small kitchen area with an oven and a slimline dishwasher. It's all open plan so it's just one space, plus the bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and everything works as it should.

Outside, there's your own deck with a hot tub. It's yours for the stay. The hut is on a working fishery, so if you want to fish, you can do that on site at no extra charge. There are two ponds. The one you look onto has mixed fish, and there's a bigger specimen pond a short walk away.

It's very quiet here. The nearest proper town is Cullompton, about five minutes' drive. It's a small market town with shops and a few pubs. The M5 junction is ten minutes away, which makes getting around easy. Exeter is about twenty minutes if you need a city.

For days out, the coast is about half an hour to the south. Places like Sidmouth are straight down the A38. Dartmoor is under an hour to the west, Exmoor about the same to the north. Right on the doorstep, you're in the Blackdown Hills. It's good walking country.

Facilities are all included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There's a TV and an electric fire for cooler evenings. It's detached, so it's just you.
