Chestnut Cottage

Chestnut Cottage is on Horney Common, right on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. It's a timber-clad cottage, part of a small private estate called Nutley Edge. There are a few other cottages around, but yours is separate. You get a little seating area out the back with a table and chairs.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean without being luxurious. The kitchen and living space is all on one floor, which is handy. There's on-site parking.

The estate has about eleven acres of land you can wander around. There's some woodland and a small play area for children. You can take up to two dogs.

Nutley village is close. It has a shop and a couple of places to eat. For a bigger supermarket, you'd drive to Uckfield, which takes about fifteen minutes.

Being on the Ashdown Forest is the main thing. You can walk straight out onto it. For organised gardens, Sheffield Park is nearby and Scotney Castle is a bit further. If you want activities, Bewl Water is about a twenty minute drive for sailing and walking.

Things you might want to know: it has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and bedding and towels are included. A cot and highchair are there if you need them. There's a BBQ.

The place is owned by a charity called Outward. The profits from your stay go towards their work, which is helping disadvantaged people.

All the cottages on the estate can be booked together for big groups, like for a wedding. You'd need to call to arrange that.
