This is Spring Harbour. It's in High Hurstwood, which is a small village near Crowborough and Uckfield. It's a detached cottage on its own. The main thing about it is the view. You look out from the veranda across fields to the South Downs in the distance. It's very quiet.
It sleeps six people in four bedrooms. There’s one bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a separate toilet. It's got a four-star rating. That’s because it's well-kept and has everything you need, like a proper kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. It’s comfortable, not palatial.
Being rural, you do need a car. The driveway has parking and there's an electric vehicle charger. The local shop is two miles away. The nearest pub is a bit further, about twelve miles, so you’d drive for a meal out.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the High Weald area. There are footpaths from the door. Ashdown Forest is nearby, which is great for a proper walk and has the Winnie-the-Pooh connection if that's your thing.
You can see the South Downs from the cottage, and they're about a 30-minute drive if you want to go. Seven Sisters Country Park and Beachy Head are that way, on the coast. Brighton, Lewes, and Royal Tunbridge Wells are also within half an hour for a day out.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, a TV, and WiFi. The garden is yours to use. We accept one well-behaved dog.
