Nutley Farmhouse is over at Horney Common, near Nutley. It's on a private estate with a few other cottages. It's a big house, sleeps eight across four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps when you've got a full group.
The place has a four star rating. It's comfortable, clean, and well looked after, but it's not a show home. It's a proper farmhouse.
You can bring up to two dogs. The estate has eleven acres of its own land with fields and some ancient woodland. There's a stream. You can just walk out the door. In spring there are often lambs in the fields nearby.
There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. It's got the usual stuff: a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can use the BBQ outside.
Nutley village is close for a pub or to pick up a few things. For a big shop, you'd drive to Uckfield, which takes about fifteen minutes.
You're right on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. It's great for walks straight from the door. For a day out, Sheffield Park and Garden is lovely. Scotney Castle is a bit further. If you want activity, Bewl Water is about a 25 minute drive for sailing and walking.
The estate is owned by a charity called Outward. The profits from your stay go towards their work, which is a nice thing.
One last point: all twelve cottages on the estate can be booked together for big groups, like for a wedding or a family gathering. You'd need to call the booking team to arrange that.
