Holly Cottage is in Horney Common, just outside Nutley. It's part of a small private estate called Nutley Edge. That's basically a group of twelve cottages spread out over eleven acres, all owned by a charity.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms. One bathroom. A washing machine. There's a parking space right by the cottage.
The living room is a good size and looks out onto a big decked area. The deck looks out over fields, it's a nice view. The garden is enclosed. There's a barbecue you can use.
The cottages are timber clad, so they look the part. It's clean and comfortable but it's a 3 Star place, so don't expect luxury finishes. It's fine for a family.
You can bring up to two dogs. That's a plus.
The Ashdown Forest is on the doorstep. You can walk straight out onto it. Pooh fans like it for the Pooh Bridge, which is just over in Hartfield.
Nutley village is a five minute drive. There's a shop and a couple of pubs. For a bigger supermarket, you'd drive to Uckfield, about fifteen minutes.
Within half an hour you've got a few options. Sheffield Park Garden is good for a stroll. If you want to get on the water, Bewl Water does sailing and things. For a busier town, Royal Tunbridge Wells has the shops and the Pantiles.
Because all the cottages are owned by the charity Outward, the rent goes towards their work. And if you ever wanted to book the whole estate for a big group, like a wedding, you can do that.
