Walnut Walk
Walnut Walk is a timber cottage on the Nutley Edge estate near Horney Common. It’s one of twelve cottages there, set back in the grounds. The estate land is shared, but your cottage has its own little patio area out the back with a table and chairs.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There’s one bathroom, which is a wet room on the ground floor. The whole place has a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. It’s all on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
You can bring two dogs. The estate has acres of its own land to walk in, and it backs right onto the Ashdown Forest. There’s a small play area for kids on site too.
Nutley village is close. It has a shop and a couple of places to eat. For a bigger supermarket, you’d drive to Uckfield, which takes about fifteen minutes.
Being on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, you’re right there for walking or cycling. Sheffield Park and Garden is a short drive away and is good for a gentle day out. For something more active, Bewl Water is about a twenty-minute drive, they do sailing and fishing there.
The facilities are what you’d need: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The estate is owned by a charity called Outward. All the profits from your stay go towards their work, which is helping disadvantaged people.
If you were planning a big gathering, all twelve cottages can be booked together. That sleeps quite a lot of people, and there’s a field for a marquee. You’d need to call the booking office to arrange that.
