This is Keeper's Cottage. It's on our working farm just outside Crowborough. You get here down a long farm track. It's unmade and rough in places, so you do need a car with decent ground clearance.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and functional but don't expect luxury. It's detached and you have your own garden. It is wheelchair friendly at the entrance, but the track is rough and the internal layout might not suit all needs.
The cottage itself is a bit of a time capsule from the 1970s. There's shag pile carpet, retro tiles, and some unusual decorations. Even an Elvis statue. The owner has collected things from all over. It's warm, with a log burner, and the stone walls and beams are original. There's a small safe if you need it.
You're on a 130-acre estate. The grounds are a bit wild since the last storms. You'll see peacocks, geese, and rheas wandering around. There's woodland and a lake to explore. It's very quiet.
For shops and a proper meal, you need to drive into Crowborough, which is about three miles. The nearest pub is a mile and a quarter away. Royal Tunbridge Wells is about a fifteen minute drive if you want more options.
From here, you can get to Ashdown Forest in about ten minutes. It's good for walks. The National Trust looks after parts of it. The coast at Eastbourne or Brighton is roughly a 40 minute drive.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
