Little Willow

Little Willow is a shepherd's hut near Gatehouse of Fleet. It's just for two people. You can bring two dogs.

It's in a field. There are cows and sheep in the next field over. The front looks out to the sea across Wigtown Bay. The back looks up at the hills. It's very quiet.

Inside, it's all one space. The main bit is the living area with a wood burner and a sofa. The kitchen is at one end with a breakfast bar. The bed is a king size, up against the wall. Under the bed is hollow, so you can stash your bags and cases there. The shower room is separate and has a proper shower cubicle.

There are French doors that open onto a covered deck. That's a good spot in the evening. You're right on the edge of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, so if it's a clear night you can see a lot of stars.

For getting around, you really need a car. The nearest beach is about two miles away. There's a shop about two miles off as well. The closest pub and places to eat are in Gatehouse of Fleet, which is five miles away.

It's a good base for the area. The Southwest 300 driving route goes past nearby. There's a lot of walking from the door. If you want to go further, you're about half an hour from Kirkcudbright and Newton Stewart.

Everything is included: the electricity, bedding, towels. There's wifi and a smart TV. You can park right next to the hut. The garden bit is enclosed, which is handy for dogs.
