Mile End Cottage is on the edge of Inverness, just over a mile from the city centre. It's a stone cottage, detached, about two hundred years old. It used to be a croft. You don't get many of these right near the city now.
The cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one big bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. The main room is open plan, kitchen at one end and living area at the other. It's tall inside, so it feels light even with the thick walls. There's a second, smaller living room at the other end of the house with doors out to a deck. The deck is enclosed and private, with a table and chairs.
The stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep. It's an old cottage, that's how they are.
You can walk to a shop in about five minutes. The nearest pub and restaurant are about a fifteen minute walk. Inverness itself is a twenty minute walk or a five minute drive. It's got everything you'd need: shops, restaurants, a cinema, a theatre, a swimming pool. The river runs right through it so the walks are good.
Culloden Battlefield is about fifteen minutes by car. National Trust for Scotland Culloden has details if you're planning a visit. Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness is maybe half an hour's drive. A bit further, you've got the Cairngorms National Park for walking, about forty minutes south.
Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is on site, right outside. The entrance has level access. No pets, sorry.
