River Lodge is on the Ness Castle Estate, about four miles outside Inverness. It's a big, detached, wooden lodge that sleeps fourteen. Seven bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. It's a five star place, so everything's in good order.
The main thing is the view. It sits right above the River Ness. You can sit on the patio and watch the water go by. The garden's all yours and it slopes down towards the riverbank.
Inverness is a ten minute drive for shops, restaurants, and the usual city things. The airport's about twenty minutes away. For a local pub, you'd need to drive a couple of miles.
If you're here for outdoors stuff, it's a good spot. There's fishing on the estate itself if you arrange it. Good walking from the door. Golf courses and places like Culloden Battlefield are very close. Loch Ness is about twenty minutes south. You can see dolphins from the Moray Firth coast, which is about half an hour north-east.
You can take day trips further out if you want. The Isle of Skye is a couple of hours' drive. The Cairngorms National Park is about forty minutes south.
Inside, it's set up for a group. There's a woodburning stove, a BBQ outside, a dishwasher and washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. You can bring one dog.
