Balnacraig

This is Balnacraig. It's a detached house in North Kessock, just over the Kessock Bridge from Inverness. It sleeps ten in five bedrooms and has four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. I wouldn't call it 'luxury' in a showy way, but it's solid and everything works.

The main thing is the view. You look straight out over the Beauly Firth towards Inverness. It changes all the time with the weather. You can watch the boats from the living area.

The stairs are normal, nothing tricky. There's parking for a couple of cars on the driveway. It's got a washing machine, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are provided. There's a highchair and a cot if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.

You're up on the hill in a small hamlet. It's quiet. There's a pub and a shop about a mile down the road in North Kessock village. The shore path is just down the hill if you fancy a walk.

You're really close to Inverness, about three miles. So you've got all the shops and restaurants there if you need them, but you're not right in town. Culloden Battlefield is just a short drive away. National Trust for Scotland Culloden. Fort George is a bit further along the coast. For a trip out, Loch Ness is about half an hour's drive south.

If you like walking, there are forest trails right behind the house. The Cairngorms National Park is about 45 minutes away if you want bigger hills. Aviemore is there for skiing in winter. The Moray Firth is famous for dolphins, you can sometimes see them from the shore or you can book boat trips from Inverness or Avoch.
