Shore View Cottage

Shore View Cottage is in North Kessock on the Black Isle. It's a detached cottage, about fifteen yards from the high tide line. You look straight out over the water to Inverness.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one is on the ground floor. There is one bathroom upstairs and a toilet and walk-in shower on the ground floor. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's a high standard and well-equipped. The stairs are steep, as you'd expect in an old cottage.

You have a small enclosed garden at the front. There's a table and chairs by the front door, and a separate seating area with a fire pit round the side.

Inside, the living room has a wood burner and a smart TV. The kitchen has everything you'd need. It's all on one level at the back, with the utility room and the main bedroom leading off.

The village is quiet. There's a pub about a five-minute walk away that does food. Inverness is just over the bridge, about a ten-minute drive for shops and supermarkets.

For beaches, you're best driving to Rosemarkie or Fortrose, which is about twenty minutes. Chanonry Point at Fortrose is the famous spot for watching dolphins. You can sometimes see them from the cottage too, but it's a bit more reliable there.

Further afield, you're well placed for day trips. Loch Ness is about half an hour south. The start of the NC500 route is on your doorstep. The Cairngorms National Park is about thirty minutes drive. For a longer day, you could get to Applecross or the east coast of Skye in under two hours.

Facilities: there's parking for two cars on the gravel driveway. Washing machine, cot and highchair are there if you need them. All bedding and towels are included. The property is listed as wheelchair accessible, but due to the steep stairs inside, only the ground floor rooms and facilities would be suitable. No pets, sorry.
