The Sea Lodge

The Sea Lodge is in Craigrory, on the shore of the Beauly Firth. It's a single-storey, semi-detached wing of a bigger house. You get your own bit. The view is straight out over the water to the mountains.

It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, which is handy. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. Because it's all on the ground floor and the entrance is level, it works for wheelchairs or if stairs are a problem.

You're right on the water's edge. The beach is just there, shingle and rocks rather than sand. North Kessock is about three miles away for a shop and a pub. Inverness is five miles for bigger shops and everything else.

It's a good spot for watching wildlife. You can see dolphins in the firth sometimes. The Dolphin and Seal Centre at North Kessock is worth a visit if that's your thing. For history, Culloden Battlefield is about twenty minutes' drive. Fort George is a bit further, maybe half an hour. It's a proper fort, still an army base.

The Black Isle is just over the bridge. It's good for driving around, with coastal villages and the Wildlife Park. If you fancy a whisky, the Malt Whisky Trail starts about forty minutes east, around Elgin.

For facilities, you've got parking for two cars, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. There's a patio area with furniture. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
