Red Squirrel Cottage is on the Ness Castle Estate, just outside Inverness. It's a single-storey lodge, so everything is on one level. You're next to Weir Cottage, but you have your own place and a private deck.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. That's quite handy. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's finished to a high standard and well-equipped. You get a view of the river from the living area.
The estate is quiet. You'll see red squirrels and birds. The river is right there. You can arrange salmon fishing locally if that's your thing. It feels quite secluded, but Inverness is only about a ten-minute drive for shops and restaurants.
For days out, Culloden Battlefield is very close. Loch Ness is about twenty minutes south. If you want to go to the coast, the Moray Firth for dolphin spotting is maybe fifteen minutes north. Driving further, places like Glencoe or Eilean Donan Castle are about two hours, so more of a day trip.
Facilities are all there: parking, WiFi, a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's a BBQ outside.
