Balmore Farmhouse is in Scaniport. It's a good twenty minute drive south from the centre of Inverness. The house itself is detached, set back from the road a bit. You get a big garden, and it's fully enclosed which is good if you're bringing dogs or kids.
It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is downstairs. That's a kingsize with its own shower room off the hallway. Upstairs, there are two more kingsize rooms and a single. The family bathroom is up there too. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The kitchen is a decent size, and you look out over fields. There's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, which is useful. The living room has a wood burning stove. Logs aren't included, but you can get them locally.
You're two miles from Loch Ness. The beach and the nearest pub and restaurant are about three miles away. There's a shop two miles off.
Inverness is your main point for bigger shops or a night out. From there, you can reach a lot. The Moray Coast is to the east, Fort Augustus and the Great Glen are to the west. If you're into history, Culloden Battlefield is close by, and Fort George is a short drive north. For general planning, the VisitScotland Highlands page is reliable.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, cot and highchair available, parking for several cars. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
