Dove Cottage is in Inverness, in the Crown area. It's a two bedroom cottage, sleeps four. One bathroom with a good shower.
It's been renovated recently, so everything is clean and works. The kitchen is at the back with French doors that open onto a little patio garden. It's enclosed and gets the sun.
You can walk into the city centre in a few minutes. The train and bus stations are close too. There's a shop, a bakery, a coffee place, and a pub literally two minutes up the road. You really don't need a car if you don't want one.
The stairs are a bit steep, as they are in these old places.
From here you can get out to Loch Ness, it's about eight miles. Culloden Battlefield is a fifteen minute drive. If you want a beach, you have to go a bit further to Nairn or the Black Isle.
It has the things you'd expect: wifi, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. No pets, I'm afraid.
For planning days out, the National Trust for Scotland site is useful, and so is the official Visit Scotland Highlands and Islands page.
