The Boat House is in Grove, next to the River Stour. It's detached. You're looking straight out over a working boatyard, so you see all the boats coming and going. The view is really the main thing.
It sleeps eight. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It feels new and well looked after.
Downstairs is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a shower room. There's also a games room with a TV. Up the stairs, the main living area is on the first floor. There's a big sofa and a dining table. The kitchen is modern and has what you need. Off the living room is a sunroom, which is a good spot to sit and watch the river.
One bedroom with a king-size bed is on this floor. The family bathroom has a roll-top bath. Up another flight of stairs are the other two bedrooms. One has a super king bed and an ensuite shower. The other has two double beds that can be made into singles if you prefer.
Outside, there's a large terrace at the back with a table and a big barbecue. You look right over the boatyard from there. There's also a small front balcony.
The setting is what it's about. You're right next to the Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve for walks and birdwatching. The Grove Ferry picnic site is next door, with a play area and canoe hire. The local pub is about a ten minute walk along the riverbank. They do food and run boat trips from there.
Canterbury is about a fifteen minute drive if you want shops, the cathedral, or restaurants. The coast is within half an hour, so you can get to places like Whitstable, Ramsgate, or Margate for the beach quite easily.
Facilities: parking on site, WiFi, a cot and highchair, a stairgate, bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine.
