An iconic feature of the town is Barmouth Bridge, an over 150-year-old railway viaduct across the Mawddach Estuary. It’s half a mile in length, with a wooden promenade suitable for pedestrians or cyclists which now forms part of the Wales Coast Path and the Lon Las Cymru Cycle Network. Nantcol waterfalls is nearby and offers a great day out, a perfect place for a family picnic whilst playing in the stream. Harlech is a 10-minute drive away and boasts the UNESCO world heritage Harlech Castle and charming independent shops to peruse.
