Swn Yr Afon is the Welsh for ’the sound of the river’, and is close to the village shop and pub. Its front garden overlooks the river which meanders down to the sea, just a lovely 10 minutes’ walk away. There are also lots of hillside walks and access to the coastal path from the doorstep. The private balcony at the rear is accessed via the path in the rear garden, which leads through the owner’s gate onto some steep slate steps and is wonderful place to relax with views over the sea and farmland, and amazing sunsets.
A pebble beach is only 5 minutes’ walk, and the sandy beach at Fairbourne is 3 miles away. A short stroll leads to the railway station, where you catch a train for lovely journeys through the superb scenery of Cardigan Bay, to the harbour towns of Barmouth and Aberdyfi, and their wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants. Excellent walking, cycling, riding, golf and bird watching are enjoyed locally.
