Chere Amie is an old sailing yacht, a Westerly Pageant from 1973. We used to keep it in Wells and sailed it along this coast for years. Now it's moored up permanently here at Rosslyn in Briston, as a place to stay.
It sleeps three. There are three single berths, so it's really for three friends or a couple with one child. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a proper boat, so the space is compact and the ceiling is low. You have to climb down a ladder from the jetty to get into it.
The boat itself is open plan, with a small cooking area and the sleeping area. There's heating and cooling. On the jetty next to it is your dayroom. It's a little hut with chairs, a wood burner, and a big window looking into the woods. You use that for sitting around in. The shower and toilet block is a short walk away. It's modern and has individual wet rooms.
The site is quiet woodland. We see bats, owls, deer. There's a shared outdoor swimming pool on the estate, which is open in the summer.
Briston is a small village. It's got a shop and a couple of pubs. The coast is about half an hour's drive. Wells-next-the-Sea harbour is good to wander around. The beaches at Holkham and Sheringham are a bit further.
If you want a change from the coast, the Norfolk Broads are about 45 minutes south. You can hire a day boat there if you fancy it.
Facilities: bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the jetty. There's a BBQ. You can't bring pets. It's glamping, so it's comfortable but it's still a boat.
