Owls Roost is in Glasbury, Powys. It's a converted hayloft, part of the old farm for Maesllwch Castle.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The ground floor has two bedrooms that share a big family bathroom. That bathroom has doors straight out to the garden, which is handy if you've got kids or a dog.
Upstairs is the main living area and the master bedroom. The stairs are painted a bright red. They're fine, but mind your head on the beams if you're tall. The master bedroom has a four-poster bed and those original round windows they used for throwing hay down. The shower room and toilet are separate.
The living area is up a couple more steps from the master bedroom. It's a big, open space with a vaulted ceiling and beams. There's a galley kitchen at the back with a dishwasher and washing machine. The dining table seats six. There are two sofas, an armchair, and a wood burner. We've put in a record player with some vinyl, and there's a basket of board games.
Outside, there's a garden area just for you, with a table and chairs. There's a covered area with a table tennis table. You can help yourself to the deckchairs. There's an outdoor tap for muddy boots or dogs, and we keep free charcoal for the BBQ. There's also lockable storage for bikes.
The village has a shop and a couple of pubs. The River Wye is right there for fishing or a paddle. For a longer walk, the National Trust has a few properties nearby, like The Weir. Hay-on-Wye is about four miles away, so that's bookshops and cafes. Brecon is a 15-minute drive for bigger supermarkets. The Brecon Beacons National Park starts just the other side of the river.
In terms of what's here: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. WiFi, TV, parking for two cars. Pets are welcome, up to two.
