Three Views Bungalow

This is Three Views Bungalow, in Talgarth. It’s a detached bungalow on a normal residential street. You’re not isolated, but you’ve got your own garden and the views from the back are really the point.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. Everything is on the ground floor. The doorways are wide and there’s a wet room, so it works well if someone has mobility issues. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well equipped.

The layout is good for a group. There are two sitting rooms, so people can split up. The main quirk is the games room. You get to it through the utility room, and it’s in the converted garage. There’s a sauna out in the garden too, which looks towards the Black Mountains. On a clear day you can see Pen y Fan.

You can walk into Talgarth in a few minutes. There’s a shop and four pubs close by. The town has a restored watermill you can tour – Talgarth Mill – which bakes its own bread.

For getting out, you’re right between Brecon and Hay-on-Wye. Hay is about seven miles, so 15 minutes in the car. It’s all bookshops and cafes. Brecon is a similar distance the other way. The National Trust has a lot of the land around here, and the Brecon Beacons National Park website is useful for planning. Pwll-y-Wrach nature reserve is just outside town, an easy walk to some waterfalls.

If you want activity, you can canoe on the Wye or walk up Pen y Fan. It’s about a 30-minute drive to the main Pen y Fan car park.

In terms of stuff here, it’s all included. Bedding, towels, WiFi, parking. There’s a washing machine, dishwasher, a cot and highchair if needed. There’s a BBQ and the garden is enclosed. We’ve got a vegetable patch; if things are in season when you’re here, help yourself to whatever’s ready. No pets, sorry.
