Windhover is in Glasbury, Powys. It's a detached cottage converted from an old stable block, done up in 2019. It's on its own, so it's quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs, and each has its own bathroom. That's handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped.
The main room downstairs is open plan. It's big and light. There's a Smart TV and decent wifi. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase, so watch your head on the way up.
There's a pub and a restaurant about 400 yards down the lane. The pub does food. The nearest shop is about three quarters of a mile away in the village.
For walking, you're spoilt. You can get straight onto paths from the door. Offa's Dyke Path and Mortimer's Trail are very close. The Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons are right there. For a proper mountain day, the Brecon Beacons National Park is about a 15 minute drive. The website for park information is Brecon Beacons National Park.
Hay-on-Wye is five miles away. That's the town with all the bookshops. Brecon is about nine miles, Hereford is about 18. All are an easy drive for a day out.
Facilities: there's parking for two cars right outside. It has wifi, a TV, and bedding and towels are included. There's somewhere undercover to store bikes. No pets, I'm afraid.
