The Bailey is in Three Cocks, which is just outside Brecon. It's an attached barn conversion, so it's a big, solid stone building. It sleeps ten, in five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's on two floors. The main living room is upstairs because that's where the views are. You get the hills and fields. That room has a wood burner. Downstairs, there's another room with a pool table and things, which is handy if people want to do different things. The master bedroom is also downstairs and has a four-poster bed and its own bathroom.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. Speaking of which, we allow one well-behaved pet.
There's a local pub about five minutes' walk away. They do food. The village shop is about the same distance.
You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. So walking and cycling routes start practically from the door. Hay-on-Wye is about ten minutes' drive. That's the book town, with all the bookshops and some good places to eat. Brecon itself is about fifteen minutes in the other direction.
Inside, you've got most things: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, the wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. There's plenty of parking right outside. We put up some Christmas decorations if you're booking over the festive period.
A couple of things plainly: the stairs are the original ones, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner. Some of the flagstone floors are uneven. The upstairs living room is where you'll spend most time, but just so you know, the kitchen and that games room are downstairs.
