Gwrlodde

Gwrlodde is just outside Talgarth. It's an old farmhouse we redid from scratch in 2022. It's detached, so no neighbours on the other side of a wall. You get the front garden to yourselves, it's fully enclosed. There's parking for three cars.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. All the beds have USB sockets next to them. The main bedroom has a super king that can be split into two singles if you need it. Another double can also be split. Then there's a bunk room and a single with a pull-out bed under it. It's got a 5 Star rating, which basically means it's very well equipped and everything is new. Underfloor heating throughout keeps it warm.

Downstairs there's a big kitchen with an island. The utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and an extra fridge-freezer. The living room has a wood burner and a Smart TV. We supply the logs.

Talgarth itself is a small market town. There's a good local pub within walking distance that does food. The town has a restored water mill with a popular cafe. You can get basic supplies there.

For walking, you're right on the edge of the Black Mountains. Parc Wood and the Pwll-yr-Wrach nature reserve with its waterfalls are very close. The whole area is part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Bronllys Castle is a short drive for a look around.

Within a half hour drive you've got Brecon, Crickhowell, and Hay-on-Wye for bookshops. The National Trust has several properties nearby like Dinefwr. The Brecon Mountain Railway is a good trip with the vintage steam trains. For a longer day out, Blaenavon Ironworks, a World Heritage Site, is about 50 minutes away.

Facilities wise: everything listed is included. Pets are welcome, up to two. Bedding and towels are provided. We've got a cot and a highchair.
