Blackrock Barn is a converted barn on our farm near Clifford. It's detached, so it's just you, your car, and the sheep. The view from the front is over our fields towards the Black Mountains. You get a private patio out there to sit on.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom, all on the same level. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The stairs to the mezzanine bedroom are more like a ladder. They're sturdy, but you need to be okay with that.
Hay-on-Wye is about ten minutes away by car. It's all bookshops and cafes. The literary festival is in May, so it gets very busy then. There's a nice castle there now too, Hay Castle, if you're into history.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. You can walk up onto Hay Bluff from nearby. It's proper open hill country. Hereford is about half an hour's drive if you need a bigger city or the cathedral.
There are a couple of decent pubs within a few miles for food. The nearest one is about a ten minute walk, but the lane has no pavement, so most people drive.
Facilities: it has the standard things - WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's an electric vehicle charger. We allow one well-behaved dog. It's a working farm, so dogs must be on a lead outside.
