Cromwell House
Cromwell House is in Winforton, Herefordshire. It's a 5 Star place, which basically means it's very comfortable and well looked after.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower, the other is an en-suite shower room. The stairs are fine.
It's an open plan downstairs. There's a woodburning stove, comfortable seating, and patio doors that open to an enclosed garden. The garden has good views of Hay Bluff. There's an egg chair out there. Upstairs, one of the bedrooms has a walk-in wardrobe. There's also a small office space with a Mac computer you can use.
You're about six miles from Hay-on-Wye. Hay is famous for books, so there are lots of bookshops. It has plenty of pubs and places to eat. The festival is in late May, early June, so book well ahead if you want to come then.
Hereford is 15 miles away. The cathedral is there, which houses the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. Brecon is about 22 miles, over the border in Wales. It's a nice town for a wander and a coffee.
For walking, you can go straight from the door. The National Trust looks after a few properties in the county. If you want the big hills, Pen y Fan and the Brecon Beacons are within a 30 minute drive. The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority website has walking information.
In terms of what's here, it has most things you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, Smart TV with Sky and Netflix. Bedding and towels are included. There's an electric vehicle charger. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
Cromwell House is attached to a smaller cottage called The Nest. They can be booked together if you're a larger group.
