Mavis Cottage Bredward

Mavis Cottage is in Bredward, Herefordshire. It's a detached cottage, so no one sharing walls with you. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. Sorry, no pets though.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The bathroom has a proper shower over the bath.

The cottage is peaceful, about a mile and a half from Kington. You get good views over towards the Welsh border from here. Out the back there's access to about thirty acres of land belonging to the farm, with some ponds. You can walk around there or have a picnic. The walking from the door is good, you can get straight onto the lanes and footpaths.

Hergest Ridge is close by. That's part of Offa's Dyke Path, so you're right on that for longer walks.

Kington itself is small. There are shops, pubs and restaurants there, about a five minute drive. For a bigger town, Leominster is about fifteen miles. Hay-on-Wye is the same distance, that's all the bookshops and the literary festival. Hereford is about twenty miles, you've got the cathedral there with the Mappa Mundi.

If you want to explore the gardens, Hergest Croft Gardens are nearby. There's also a red kite feeding station close by, and an owl and small breeds farm less than a mile away.

Facilities are all there. Washing machine, wood burning stove, WiFi, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
