Border View is just outside Kington, in Herefordshire. It's a detached cottage, so you're on your own. The name is accurate: it looks over farmland and down the valley. The view is good, especially in the morning.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxury. Everything you need is there.
You've got a private garden and patio. Parking is right there. There's WiFi and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones. There's space to store bikes. No pets, sorry.
Kington town is a couple of miles away. There are a few pubs and restaurants, and some takeaways. It's handy. Hergest Croft Gardens are on the edge of town, they're nice to walk around. There's also a small animal park there that kids like.
You're right on the border. Hay-on-Wye is about 13 miles away, so 20 minutes or so. It's all the bookshops and the festival. Hereford is about half an hour's drive for bigger shops.
If you head into Wales, the Elan Valley dams are about a 45-minute drive. It's a big, impressive landscape for a drive or a walk. Good for cycling too if that's your thing.
For local walking information, the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust has details on nature reserves. For a wider view of the area, Visit Wye Valley covers both sides of the border.
