Border View

Border View is in Kington, up on the border in Herefordshire. It's a detached house, so none of that "semi" business. You look right out over farmland and down the valley. It's a good view.

The house sleeps four flat out, but it's better with three or four adults. Two bedrooms, one upstairs bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating.

It's open plan downstairs, which is modern. The stairs are a bit of a curve. You get used to it quick, but watch your head on the beam at the top.

Kington town is about two miles away. Couple of pubs, a few places to eat, some shops. For something a bit different, Hergest Croft Gardens is just outside town. There's also a small animal park near Kington that kids seem to like.

You're right on the border here. Hay-on-Wye is about twenty minutes away, maybe a bit more. Obviously that's all about the books and the festival. For a proper drive out, the Elan Valley dams are about forty-five minutes into Wales. Rhayader is just past that.

Facilities: Parking is on the drive. There's a patio out the back. Stairgate and a cot are in one of the cupboards if you need them. WiFi, TV, washing machine, all that. Towels and bedding are included. No pets, sorry.

For walking or planning days out: National Trust Midlands and Wye Valley AONB.
