New Radnor is a small village. It's got a pub that does food. For bigger shops, you'd go to Presteigne or Knighton, which are about a 10-15 minute drive.
You're right by the Radnor Forest for walks. It's good walking country straight from the door. The National Trust's Erddig is about half an hour away. The Elan Valley reservoirs are also within a 30 minute drive if you like dramatic scenery.
