Penshenkin Barn

Penshenkin Barn is in New Radnor, Powys. It's a detached barn conversion down a lane, so it's quiet. You get the garden and the hot tub to yourselves. The view from the front is fields and hills.

It sleeps ten. Five bedrooms, five bathrooms. They're all en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable.

The barn is single-storey inside, so everything is on the ground floor. It's good for accessibility. The front door is wide and there are no steps inside. There's a wet room.

A short walk from the barn is Water-Break-Its-Neck waterfall. It's a good spot for a walk. There are miles of paths in the Radnor Forest right from the door.

You're about eight miles from Kington. It's a small town with shops and cafes. Presteigne is closer, about four miles. It has a few places to eat and The Judge's Lodging museum if that's your sort of thing.

Hay-on-Wye is about a twenty minute drive for the bookshops and the festival. The Elan Valley is further, maybe forty minutes, but it's worth the drive for the scenery around the reservoirs. Offa's Dyke path runs through the area if you're a serious walker.

Facilities wise: it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for several cars on the gravel area. It's a no-pets property.

Useful links: Visit Wales for general information and National Trust Erddig and Chirk Castle which are within an hour's drive.
