Red Kite Lodge
Red Kite Lodge is on our farm in Stanner. It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and cattle about.
It's detached and sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. The place is clean and comfortable.
You park your car at the bottom of the slope. There's a short, uphill walk to the front door. The door opens straight into the main living area, which is all open plan. There's a woodburning stove for colder nights.
The best bit is the balcony. Big patio doors open onto it. The view looks up the valley and it's really good for watching the sun go down.
Kington is the nearest town. It's about three miles. There are a couple of pubs, some places to eat, and a few takeaways. Hergest Croft Gardens are there if you like that sort of thing. There's also a small breeds farm park, which is good if you have kids.
For a bigger day out, Hay-on-Wye is 13 miles away. It's famous for all the bookshops. The Hay Festival is on in late spring.
You're right on the edge of the Welsh Marches here. The Offa's Dyke Path is close by for walking. There's a golf course in Kington too.
Facilities: There's WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs. There's parking on site.
