Red Kite Lodge is on our farm at Stanner. It's up the hill quite a way, so you get good views down the valley. There's a parking spot at the bottom and then you walk up to the front door.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and has what you need. The doors from the living area open onto a balcony. It faces west, so you can sit out there in the evening.
Being a farm, you'll see sheep and cattle around. Sometimes you hear the tractor. The walking from the door is good. It's proper countryside.
Kington is the nearest town. It's about four miles. There are a couple of pubs that do food, a few shops, and takeaways. The Hergest Croft Gardens are there if you like that sort of thing.
Hay-on-Wye is about 13 miles, so 20 minutes or so in the car. That's where all the bookshops are.
Facilities: it's got a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site. We allow up to three dogs.
