Upper Close Walton

Upper Close is on our farm near Walton in Powys. It’s a detached house down its own private lane. The views are good, just fields and hills all around.

It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s a family house, so it’s roomy and practical rather than stylish. Being a farm house, the doorways and halls are wide, and there’s a ramp to the front door, which helps if anyone uses a wheelchair. The garden is fenced all the way around.

Inside, there’s a wood burner in the main living room. There’s also an oak conservatory at the back. It gets the sun and has the best view. Upstairs, one of the bedrooms has an ensuite shower. The other bathroom has a bath.

In the outbuilding there’s a games room with a pool table. Outside, there’s a hot tub on the patio. It’s set away from the house.

You’re on a working farm with sheep. You’ll see us going about, but the house and garden are private. We allow up to three dogs. The garden is secure.

The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away in Beguildy. It does food. The shop is a bit further, in Felindre, about three and a half miles. Knighton is about a twenty minute drive. They’ve got a few more shops and places to eat.

For walking, Offa’s Dyke Path is very close. The National Trail website has maps. The Elan Valley is about half an hour’s drive. Good for reservoir walks and cycling. The Elan Valley Trust site has visitor information. For a day out, the coast at Aberystwyth is just under an hour.

Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s plenty of parking right by the house. Everything you need for a BBQ is there.
