Gooses Roost is a barn conversion, next to our house and farm in Westbrook. You get your own front door and decking area.
It's all on one level inside, which makes it straightforward. There's one main bedroom with a super king bed. You can split it into two singles if you prefer. The bathroom is an en-suite wet room. The living area has a sofa bed, so the place can technically sleep four, but it's really best for two.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. The floors are tiled, the shower is good, and it's warm. We've included all the bedding and towels.
Outside, you're on a working farm. There are sheep and chickens. You can store bikes if you bring them. The parking is right outside.
You can walk to a couple of country pubs from here, about three miles. They do food. The nearest shop is four miles away, so you'll want to drive for supplies.
Hay-on-Wye is about a fifteen minute drive. It's the book town. The festival is in May, but it's worth a visit any time of year. The castle there is interesting. For walking, you can get onto the Brecon Beacons easily. Hay Bluff and The Begwyns are right there.
Hereford is about half an hour by car if you need a bigger supermarket or want to see the cathedral.
The place is wheelchair accessible. There are no steps into the property and the wet room is level. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. We accept up to two dogs. There's Wi-Fi and a TV.
We have two other barns on site, Badgers Den and Horsecroft. You can book them together if you're coming as a bigger group.
