Gooses Roost is here in Westbrook. It's a converted barn next to our farmhouse. The whole place is on one level so you don't have stairs.
It sleeps two. One bedroom with a super king size bed. It can be two singles if that's easier. The bathroom's an en-suite wet room. There's a sofa bed in the living area if you've got a couple of extra people, but it's really best for two.
Outside, there's a deck with table and chairs. You look out over the yard to the fields. It's not a private garden, you share the space with the other barns, but there's plenty of room.
It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and hear the animals. There's parking right outside.
For facilities, you've got WiFi, a TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. The property is wheelchair accessible.
The nearest pub is about three miles away. Hay-on-Wye is about a ten minute drive. You know, the book town. It's got all the shops and cafes you need. The festival's in May but it's busy with bookshops all year.
For walking, you're right on the edge of the Black Mountains. You can drive up onto the Begwns or Hay Bluff in under fifteen minutes. It's proper walking country.
Hereford is about half an hour by car if you need a city or the cathedral. Useful links for the area: Visit Wye Valley and National Trust Herefordshire.
We allow up to two dogs. There's bicycle storage if you bring bikes.
