Kingfisher

Kingfisher is in Milford Haven, on the water. It's one of a pair of houses. You step out the back door onto the foreshore of the tidal inlet, which is called Castle Pill. The water comes right up when the tide is in.

The place sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, so each bedroom is en-suite. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and finished.

From the main living area, patio doors open onto a terrace that looks over the water. Good for sitting out. There's a stand for a disposable BBQ if you want one. Two of the bedrooms also have a view over the Pill. One of them has a door that opens onto a small Juliet balcony.

Please be aware the stairs inside are a spiral staircase. They're open and a bit steep.

If you’ve got a kayak or like to mess about on the water, you have your own access to put in from the foreshore. It's popular with birdwatchers too. For a swim in the sea or to use the sailing club, you’d drive to Dale, which is about fifteen minutes away. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path starts nearby.

In terms of facilities, it has pretty much everything you’d need: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site and you can store bikes. It’s wheelchair accessible to get in, but because of the stairs, only the ground floor is. We accept one well-behaved dog. A cot and highchair are there if you need them.

You can book it together with the house next door, called Woodpecker, if you’ve got a bigger group.

For planning days out, the National Trust Pembrokeshire and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park websites are useful.
