Highfield Cottage

Highfield Cottage is in Hambleton, Lancashire. It's detached and set in quite extensive, established gardens. There's a courtyard area with a separate, single-room annexe building across it.

The main house sleeps nine comfortably, and the annexe sleeps two more. Five bedrooms in total, all with their own bathrooms or shower rooms. Two bedrooms in the main house have dressing rooms. There's a family bathroom with a spa bath and a separate shower room downstairs.

The place is a 4 Star, which reflects the space and the facilities. It's set up for bigger groups. The kitchen is a proper farmhouse one, so it's good for cooking for everyone. There's a study with a desk.

Downstairs, there's a bar area. It has a full-size snooker table and a darts board. The stairs are fine, normal stairs.

The annexe is across the courtyard and up some external steps. It's open-plan, so it's a bedroom and living space combined. Good for a couple or older kids wanting a bit of separation.

In the village, there's a pub that does food, a farm shop, a grocery store, and a takeaway. Poulton-le-Fylde is a short drive for more shops, supermarkets, and restaurants.

You can be on the coast at Thornton Cleveleys or Cleveleys in about 15 minutes. Blackpool is about 20 minutes by car. So you've got the Pleasure Beach, the Tower, the zoo, all those sorts of things there.

Inland, you're well placed for the countryside. The Forest of Bowland is about half an hour's drive. The Ribble Valley is similar. For a full day out, the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales are roughly an hour away.

Facilities: there's parking on the drive. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. A wood burner in the living room. We provide bedding and towels. It's suitable for wheelchair access into the ground floor. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. We have a cot, highchair, and stairgate available.
