The Bay Cottage
The Bay Cottage is in Cleveleys, on the Fylde coast. It's a bungalow, so everything's on the ground floor. That's useful if you don't fancy stairs.
It sleeps four in three bedrooms: one double, two singles. There's a wet room with a walk-in shower and grab rails. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean, comfortable and straightforward, not a show home.
You're about a ten minute walk from the seafront promenade. It's flat, good for a stroll. The village centre is about the same distance the other way, for shops and cafes.
The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you've brought dogs. We allow up to two. There's off-road parking for one car right outside.
Inside, there's a living room with a decent sized TV, and a kitchen with a table. It's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. We include all the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair in the cupboard if you need them.
For a bigger beach, you can drive to Fleetwood, or Blackpool is about twenty minutes in the car for the pier and the attractions. The Lancashire Wildlife Trust sites are worth a look if you like nature reserves. The National Trust has a few properties within half an hour, like Rufford Old Hall.
That's about it. It's a good base for the coast.
