The main living room is a great space to kick back and relax in after a busy day exploring and the second living room has a TV with a large selection of DVD’s which is perfect for the kids, or simply sit back on the sofa and enjoy the uninterrupted view of Parlick Fell were handglides can often be spotted floating in the skies. Enjoy waking up to stunning vistas from all three bedrooms with views stretching out over Longridge Fell, Pendle Hill and the Ribble Valley. Outside, the garden looks out over the farmland and toward the fell. The seating area is placed under a pagoda which also has a patio heater so you can enjoy the garden whatever the weather.
Rigg Cottage is situated on a quiet lane, just half a mile from Beacon Fell which is renowned for its wonderful walking. There are many walks for all abilities right from your very front door across the fell where you will be rewarded with views of the Welsh Mountains and Lake District on a clear day. Routes take you through moorland, woodlands, and farmland with lots of friendly local pubs dotted along the way. Cyclists will love the winding country lanes that snake through the countryside taking you through the Forest of Bowland, to the Yorkshire Dales and toward the coast, there is even safe cycle storage provided for you when you return.
There are many other country pursuits nearby, from hang gliding, to horse riding, fishing and even clay pigeon shooting – there really is something for everybody. Children will love the Bowland Wild Boar Park based in Chipping, 6 miles, which offers animal feeding, tractor rides, plays areas, riverside walks & a cafe. The market town of Clitheroe is close by, its bustling streets lined with independent boutiques, wine bars, restaurants, and cafes. You may also want to head over to the Fylde Coast, which can be reached in under 40 minutes, for a day out at Blackpool with its many attractions, Lytham which is renowned for its championship golf courses and rolling sand dunes or Thornton Cleveleys with its golden sand and award winning promenade. The village of Goosnargh is just 5 miles away and Longridge is 6 miles away and both are picturesque, postcard villages with local pubs selling delicious homecooked meals as well as local shops and takeaways.
