Karslake Cottage

Karslake Cottage is in Winsford, on Exmoor. It's a semi-detached place, right in the middle of the village, which is very pretty. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms.

It got a full renovation in 2021, so it's in good order. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's got everything you need and it's done to a high standard. It still feels like an old cottage though. The stairs are a bit narrow in parts. There are a couple of small steps between rooms upstairs and down.

You've got a wood burning stove in the main fireplace. The kitchen has an Aga. The bathroom has a roll top bath and a separate shower cubicle. The garden is south facing and on two levels, with seating on both. It's fully enclosed.

The Royal Oak pub is a couple of minutes walk away. It's a good 12th century building, thatched, and they do food. There's a tea room just as close. Dulverton is about a five minute drive. It's a small town with shops, cafes, and the Exmoor National Park centre.

You're in the National Park here, so the walking is right on the doorstep. You can see the Exmoor ponies. Tarr Steps, Withypool, and lots of good walks are within a short drive. Dunster, with its castle, is about a 25 minute drive. Minehead and the West Somerset Railway are about half an hour. The coast at Porlock Weir or Lynton and Lynmouth is roughly 40 minutes.

Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. No pets.
