The Barn By The Lake
The Barn By The Lake is in Woolcotts, Somerset. It's a converted barn on our farm. The main thing is the lake. It's right there at the bottom of the garden. You get the view from the deck and the main living room.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. Two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. There's a mezzanine floor with twin beds, reached by a steep wooden staircase. There's also a single bedroom on the ground floor and a master bedroom at the back. The layout is open plan upstairs, then steps lead down to a second living area.
You're on a private road next to Wimbleball Lake activity centre. You can walk straight out onto the paths around the lake. If you want to do watersports, you can hire kayaks or paddleboards from the centre, or bring your own and pay a launch fee. The fishing here is fly fishing for trout.
The local pub is about a mile away. The nearest shop and restaurant are two miles. Dulverton is six miles away, it's a proper little town with shops and places to eat.
You're in Exmoor National Park. For a walk, Tarr Steps is good, or up to Dunkery Beacon. Dunster with its castle is about a 30 minute drive. The coast at Minehead or Porlock Weir is about the same.
Facilities: it's got a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. We can provide a cot and highchair. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry.
