The Coach House Upton

The Coach House is near the village of Upton, in Somerset. It's on our farm, up on the Brendon Hills. The building is old, from the 1800s, and used to be part of a bigger estate. It still has the original stone floors and thick walls.

It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and each one has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. The main room is open plan, with the kitchen and living area together. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.

You're surrounded by land here. The house has its own bit of garden, but beyond that there are four acres to wander in, and then the rest of the farm, which is about sixty acres. It's very quiet. You can bring dogs, up to four. There's no extra charge for them.

In terms of things to do, Wimbleball Lake is very close. They do sailing and paddleboarding there. For walking, Haddon Hill is right on the doorstep for moorland walks. The coast is about fifteen minutes drive. Kilve has a fossil beach. The village of Dulverton is ten minutes away for shops and a coffee. Dunster, with its castle, is a bit further.

You're right on the edge of Exmoor National Park. It's a Dark Sky Reserve, so the stars at night are very clear if the weather's good. The nearest pub is in Upton, about three miles.

Facilities: there's parking, wifi, a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a starter pack of logs for the burner.
