Harewood Barn

Harewood Barn is near Woolcotts in Somerset. It's a detached barn conversion with a modern layout. You get a patio area and the garden is enclosed.

The barn sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's got everything you need and is kept to a good standard. There are two staircases, one on each side of the living room, which leads up to separate bedroom wings. The stairs are standard. The cellar has the washing machine and tumble dryer, and there's a heated outhouse by the front door for bikes or wet kit.

It accepts two dogs. There's also stabling for up to three horses if you bring your own, and room to park a horsebox. The area is good for hacking.

The location is the main thing. It's set back from Wimbleball Lake, inside Exmoor National Park. The lake activity centre is a short walk away. You can hire kayaks, paddleboards, or sailing boats, or bring your own. There are miles of walking and cycling trails right from the property.

Dulverton is about six miles away for shops and places to eat. A good day out is Tarr Steps or up to Dunkery Beacon for the views. The villages of Dunster, with its castle, and Porlock Weir are worth a trip. The West Somerset Railway runs from Minehead. For a beach, you're looking at Dunster or Blue Anchor, which are about 14 miles.

It's got most things you'd expect: a wood burner, TV, WiFi, dishwasher, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but you'd need to check the full layout for suitability.
