Coachmans Cottage is one of the cottages at Triscombe Farm in Wheddon Cross. It's an old, original cottage and it's quite spacious for two people.
It's got one bedroom and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and clean. The bed is made up for you when you arrive. There's a wood burning stove, which is good for colder evenings, and a washing machine. You've got your own patio and garden area. There's parking right outside.
The main thing here is the setting. You're in a sheltered valley in Exmoor, with a stream running through the grounds. You can see Dunkery Beacon from the farm. We get red deer, badgers, and lots of birds. The indoor heated swimming pool on site is open all year, which is a bonus.
For walks, you're right in the Exmoor National Park. The coastal path is about a 30 minute drive. That's where the high cliffs are. Dunkery Beacon is the highest point on Exmoor and the views are very good from there. Minehead is about 10 miles away if you want a beach or the West Somerset Railway. Dunster, with its castle, is close by too.
There's a shop and a pub in Wheddon Cross, which is a mile down the road. They do food. If you want to ride, there are local stables that do treks on Exmoor.
