Orchard Cottage Wheddon Cross

Orchard Cottage is on a farm near Wheddon Cross in the Exmoor National Park. It's part of a group of cottages. There's a heated indoor swimming pool on site, which is handy if the weather's not great.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

The layout's a bit unusual, it's an 'upside-down' cottage. The living area is upstairs to get the best of the view. The stairs are fairly typical for a conversion, so not steep, but they're a winder staircase.

You've got a garden area that's just for the cottage. It's enclosed, which is good if you've got kids. There's a BBQ there too. Inside, there's a dishwasher and a washing machine, wifi, and parking right outside.

The location is quiet. You're down a long track off the main road. You can hear the stream from the garden. Badgers and deer are around, you often see them at dusk.

For days out, Dulverton's about a 15 minute drive. It's a nice little town with shops and places to eat. Minehead and the coast is roughly half an hour's drive. Dunkery Beacon is close, maybe 20 minutes, and the views from the top are worth it on a clear day.
