Orchard Cottage is on Triscombe Farm, near Wheddon Cross. It's one of several cottages here, converted from old farm buildings. The main thing is the indoor heated swimming pool on site, which is shared with the other guests.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The layout is what they call 'upside down', so the living area is upstairs. It used to be a stable for polo ponies, apparently. The kitchen is downstairs. It's fine, just a bit different.
The place is on a farm in the Exmoor National Park. There's a stream in the garden. You'll see fields, and sometimes red deer or buzzards. The driveway up to the farm is quite long.
You're about a mile from a shop and a pub. For a proper day out, the coast at Porlock or Minehead is about half an hour's drive. Minehead has a beach and the West Somerset Railway. Dunster village is very pretty, with its castle. You can walk up to Dunkery Beacon from here for the views.
Useful links: Exmoor National Park for walking maps and deer spotting, and National Trust South West for places like Dunster Castle.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's an enclosed patio area with a barbecue. Sorry, no pets.
