Penrhiw is on our sheep farm in Llangeitho. It's a converted barn, joined on to the old cowshed next door. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The main living area downstairs is open plan, with a wood burner and underfloor heating. There are beams and some stone walls on show. Upstairs, one bedroom has its own shower, and the main bathroom is shared between the other two bedrooms, accessed from both sides.
You have your own enclosed courtyard with patio furniture. It looks out over the fields. The neighbour feeds red kites sometimes, so you'll often see them overhead.
The village is about a mile away. It has a shop, a café, and a pub that does food. Tregaron is three miles. It's a proper little market town with some nice shops, a good restaurant, and the Rhiannon Welsh Gold Centre. Just past that is Cors Caron, which is a big nature reserve with a boardwalk you can follow. It’s worth a look.
You can get to the coast in about half an hour. Aberystwyth has a long promenade, a pier, and a cliff railway. There are also steam train trips from there into the Rheidol Valley. Aberaeron is a colourful harbour town, famous for its honey ice cream. New Quay is a fishing town, good for boat trips and dolphin watching.
For walkers, you're right in the Cambrian Mountains. There are loads of routes from the door. The ruins of Strata Florida Abbey aren't far if you like history.
It's got a 4 Star rating. The facilities are all there: parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and a cot if you need one. You can bring up to two dogs.
