Penrhiw is a barn conversion on a working sheep farm near Llangeitho in Ceredigion. It's semi-detached to another cottage we rent out. You get your own enclosed courtyard garden with a table and chairs.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one is an en-suite and the other is a Jack and Jill style off the main bedroom and the landing. It has a 4 Star rating. The main living space downstairs is open plan with a wood burner and underfloor heating. The ceilings are beamed and there's some exposed stonework.
Being on a farm, you'll see sheep. A neighbour feeds the red kites, so you'll often see them overhead.
The village of Llangeitho is about a mile away. It has a shop, a café, and a pub that does food. Tregaron is three miles from the cottage. It's a small market town with some independent shops, a Welsh Gold Centre, and a good pub. The Cors Caron nature reserve is just past Tregaron. It's a big raised bog with a boardwalk you can walk along. It's managed by Natural Resources Wales.
For the coast, it's about a half hour drive. Aberystwyth has a long promenade and the Vale of Rheidol railway. New Quay and Aberaeron are coastal towns where you can sometimes spot dolphins. Boat trips run from both.
Inside, there's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. There's parking right outside. The main entrance and the living area are wheelchair accessible, but please contact us to talk through the details as the bathrooms are upstairs. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
You can book it together with the cottage next door, Ty Bach Twt, if you need space for more people.
For local walking information, Visit Ceredigion is useful. For history, the Strata Florida abbey ruins are nearby and cared for by Cadw.
